If this is an offline connected career, you might try creating a second save, simulating to the preseason, and see if the money comes back.

I'm guessing it's gonna be a temporary bug the late offer you made Ryan Pickett, who I surmise has now retired in your game. As in, he retired with that offer in hand, but it wasn't cleared when he retired so that offer is "outstanding" through the entire free agency period. That's just a guess, to be clear.

it's an online league. I was kind of thinking the same thing, except the amount is too big. My offer was for 3 or 4 million, and he wanted to keep negotiating. Maybe the game is keeping the franchise tag number available for him for some reason? Anyways, hoping you're right that i get the money back next year.
