If this is true, I will be happier.

From the brief time I played I could definitely see less of the artificial pancakes and there is a lot more movement in the trenches.

This...

"The newly introduced Run Free feature takes the exclusivity of running the ball from running backs. It applies to any player that runs the ball from running backs to quarter backs to wide receivers on offense. It also includes any player than intercepts the rock on defense. The purpose of the feature is to make the game closer to a simulation than a scaled down version of the sport."

Nice.

Most people who play Madden are all about running up the score but there are a select few that also care about defense. For them, Infinity Engine 2 features a new tackling mechanic and pursuit angles. Dives and tackles are far more accurate and artificial intelligence is vastly improved, so we will see less of players being caught out of position.
This is one of the most important things said in the article.

What I hope to see is the players being in the right position (depending on ratings) most of the time, and when they are out of position, not being able to warp/suction/fly/defy gravity and physics in any way, to get to the ball and make a play.

I hate seeing a WR with 5 steps on a CB, thinking he's open, only for the defender to warp in front of the WR and make an INT.

This is a very encouraging article because this came from a build later than anyone else who had hands on impressions so far, I believe the season opener event was two weeks ago or even last week.

Minor cosmetic note - hope they fix the steelers stripes this year....

I wonder if there is a presentation embargo, because nothing has been mentioned of any improvements.

Good point.

Some are thinking it will be combined with the CCM blogs.
