And Clint Oldenburg worked on the new blocking logic for both games, so, take that for what's it's worth, too.

Play looked really good, but what the hell was 54 on defense doing?

At first I was happy when i saw this. As the OLB he acutally did his assignment which was to set the edge and contain.....but then he ran into the back field. hopefully this can be tweaked. To be honest i'd rather my OLB set the edge and make toss/ stretch plays less money. Even if that means giving a little up the middle .

Re: if you still doubt the blocking in m25 will be improved...

I liked the play there. The blocking is undoubtedly improved MASSIVELY. However, my fear is that defense is still lacking. After watching some of the E3 videos for Madden on current gen, I saw a lot of the same things. Defenders wandering off to cover no one, eventually standing still in an area of grass where no offensive players were around. RBs breaking mass amounts of tackles. There is very little defense and there is still no pass rush. I've already given up on current gen Madden, and I'm setting my focus to next gen. However, I don't want to see these things carry over to next gen. I've never seen a linebacker just stand still in a patch of grass covering no one in the real NFL. It looks silly and ridiculous. Moody did a video on it a while back and it really showed the improvement needed in this area.

The blocking looks great and I'm very impressed with it in the NCAA demo. However, it seems that once again, defense is neutered in Madden by an overpowering offense. I think the defense needs the ability to realistically get off blocks as well as the offense being able to hold them. There needs to be a solid balance there - which is an area that TIburon has always struggled with.

Great points.^^^

I will say I'm loving the outside pass rush by the ends and lb's in the NCAA demo.
