Madden 2005 graphics upgrade

The game pretty much looks the same as the past few years. A few touches doesn't make it great. I think we won't see a big update on the graphic side until Madden hits the next generation consoles. And please to all who say that it looks alot better then last year have got to be kidding me!! I guess people are trying to hard find something on them pics to justify the big improvements I honestly don't see..

it does look alot better, and if you think that the next generation of consoles will make amazingly new graphics, then you might be a little dissapointed!

Did you see the movie I posted a few weeks ago that showed a game for the new consoles? It was dark but from what I could see, the graphics looked like what a cut scene on the xbox looks now. And those were the in-game graphics.

I wouldn't put any stock whatsoever in any pictures or movies being shown of next-gen console games. Everytime a new generation of consoles gets within a year or two of launching the gaming media begins publishing photorealistic images reportedly from actual "in-game" footage. Then, when the games actually launch they usually look nothing like the early screens. I don't know if anyone remembers, but on the back of the boxes of early Saturns or PSXs (can't remember which) they showed a gameplay picture from a Crystal Dynamics baseball game. The graphics in that picture were better than anything we're seeing on today's consoles, and that was almost 10 years ago! I'm not sure if the game ever even shipped...

I don't feel that Madden 2005 will be a MAJOR upgrade in the graphics department, but I do feel the screenshots show a definite refinement of the graphics. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, the skies are incredible in the outdoor stadiums. By the look of these screenshots, there is also noticeable improvement on the players' jerseys, equipment and the football textures itself. It will be cool to see the movies next month at E3!
