I wonder if there will be more PI called in 2005 with the new NFL rule

In Madden you'll see a PI call once every 8 games. The penalty slider doesn't work. But now when they're hyping up the defense and shutdown corners they migh ignore the coming emphasis on watching defenders more carefully in the NFL.

Next season there will be more PI calls in reality but I think Madden won't have it in cause they probably think it'll take away from their new defensive gameplay.

What's the new PI rule? I can't find it.

There is no new rule. The NFL said that they were going to call more of the holds on bumping at the LOS. It'll never happen though. They can say they are going to call it all they want, it's like the MLB saying they'll call the high strike. When it comes down to the games, the refs/umps will call it like they always have.

based on what I have read, there will not be any difference in penalty calling in Madden 2005.

The NFL has told the officials to look at defenders harassing with receivers more carefully and to let the flags fly more easily if they see something. Don't know how much this will change the game in reality. We'll see.

Yeah, unfortunately. It's mentioned in the maddenwishlist interview.
