Re: 20-yard Dropback Still in 2005

Don't say it's early guys, because it's just like ESPN and their running animations and models and helmets... they will be the same as in the end. It just won't be done, because they have other things that they feel they should do first.

As for people talking about the video, what does the video show? It all depends on how you play, and how you guys play... well, not only will you drop back about 20 yards or so, but you will also do about 5 playmakers before the snap, and a couple after, and just scramble around, and complete a pass in between 3 defenders.

And I ask you, how is that fun?

How about maybe calling an audible or a hot route, or maybe a motion every other play, take a 3/5/7 step drop (according to the play), and hitting the open man, only to pray that Law doesn't come up behind you and swat or intercept that ball, seeing it all through the eyes of the QB. THAT'S football's passing game at its finest.

The IGN "Extreme Celebration" vid from yesterday also had it. You guys can defend it all you want, but if EA hasn't fixed this problem in 15 years, they aren't going to fix it between June and the time that the game ships.

and where can i find this so call ign extreme celebration video?

It's gonna always be in there as long as users keep dropping back 25 yards. That ain't realistic at all. You wanna talk about playing a realistic game, then all yall dude's who drop back 25 yards....QUIT DOING IT!!!

exactly, why do people complain about this when the user himself is the one who is controlling the QB. any QB in real life can drop back 20 yards himself but they dont actually do it. duh??

People complain because the game doesn't punish you for dropping back 20 yds. In the NFL, no QB does it because they would either be sacked for a huge loss or be way less likely to complete the pass. In Madden, the offense gets the advantage by doing this which is why people do it.

So, in other words they cheese to gain an advantage right? You can pretty much mark that up with money plays and any other glitches people find in these games.

Except EA doesn't see the need to fix the 20-yard dropback with perfect throwing accuracy. Never have, probably never will, because that's the way their core audience likes it. Must be, according to the lines at EB the day it comes out.
