I just went to preorder madden 2005 and the clerk says oh by the way this will be the last ea football game coming out .Got to be a joke right.

The license to the "Madden" name on EA sports games ends this year - if I recall correctly.

So... if they can't license the Madden name again (which I think they will, they've got more than enough money), then it'll probably be like EA SPorts NFL Football - or some tag line.

It was another tactic to get you to buy Madden.
EA is pushing EB and Gamestop hard this year to sell games.

Also EA will NOT let the Madden go away. He'll sign a new hefty long contract. Don't worry about Madden license leaving because it won't be.

He's right, those domain names are taken and registered by EA. A simple whois lookup returned this information.
