Anyone else think jukes are really ineffective?

So far, I have yet to really be able to use jukes and spins to my advantage. I just find no matter how I time it, I get tackled in the open field. And we're talking Clinton Portis in the open field, which means I should be able to break off a juke at least some of the time. I just don't get it. Also, I struggle with timing with the shoulder charge/power move at times. Advice on that is appreciated. Anyways, thanks to anyone who can help.

they work for me, spin moves work the best, but there isn't really that many occaisions to time it well and use it. When you are running diagonally and someone is headed to cut you off you can mess with their path of pursuit if you step out of the way at the right time.

They work well in the open field, 1 on 1. You have to be moving though, too slow and the fake is weak. It also seems like you should hit it a little early. I have snapped some ankles with Lee Suggs for the Browns so I KNOW Portis can do it.
