I agree...had a nice 100 yard game with Warrick Dunn on All-pro against Arizona...almost broke a big one but their safety tripped me up at the last second. Waiting for your blocks to form is the key, unless they blitz the hole you're running to, then you are just screwed if you don't audible

Bleh... I'm good at running in Madden and I think both are good. In Espn you need to know when to hit what button:

Guy is coming right at you, charge.
Guy is coming from the side, juke.
Open field with a scatback, spin.

In madden it's less about the jukes (although a juke in the open field is deadly) and more about hitting the holes. You shouldn't hit turbo right away, just let the hole develop in front of you and then hit turbo to hit the hole. I personally love Madden's running. I used Portis last night and got 120 yards and averaged 5 yards per carry. This consisted of many short yardage bursts, and then breaking it open with some BIG runs.

Which is exactly as it should be, if I run Dunn straight into a blitzing Ray Lewis, I expect him to get crushed in the backfield not mistackle and Dunn rumble for another 5 or so yards.

'good god' what does that have to do with the simple fact that when you're in the open field, the second you hit the speed burst, it's as if you hit the speed burst button for both your player AND the CPU?

If your talking about ESPN turn down pursuit and you won't have this issue anymore, cause in Madden I had a INT with N.Grieson on the Giants against the Cheifs and P.Holmes was the closest guy to Grieson and Holmes coulnd't catch up, Holmes is alot Faster in Real life. The Speed in Madden is alomst to much.

if for some here, the defensive options in madden 2005, makes its defense better than 2k5...then 2k5's run game trumps 2005's b/c it has WAY more options

I'm kind of split. I liked the way you control the speed more in ESPN and the cuts you are able to make. at the same time, i feel like it could take way too long to make a move in that game as well. Whereas madden(which im much more used to) what you lose in total control i feel like you kind of gain in precision if you know what i mean
