ESPN 2K5 running game 9.8
Madden 2005 running game 7.0

I'm sorry but when i play ESPN i feel like i'm in control of my back but when i'm playing Madden it just doesn't feel right. I guess like the guy said it feels like you're steering rather than running.

Espn running to me feels like it's computer assisted. It's like the running back get's sucked through the line and you don't have to make many decisions. Your back 'steers' thourgh your lineman by himself.

Madden I feel gives you ultimate control. But that's just my opinion. I do like though what an earlier poster said about how you can be shut down for sometimes a whole games, then BOOM you rip off a long one. More like real football to me.

I STRONGLY disagree with that bro....

Just the opposite. In Madden, the special moves are fluff. They are COMPLETELY unnecessary. I can jam into the back of the O-line, run in place until a hole opens (or burst outside), get tackled by contact with a single defender, fall down. Rinse, repeat.

In 2K, I've got to read the right hole because even engaged defenders can make a play, then i've got to scan the 2nd level for defenders, because the special moves need to be done well before contact(wheras in Madden every move works even if you're already touching the defender). Then I have to remember to hit Y right before contact, so my momentum makes me fall forward, or I can just cover the ball by holding the A. Looks real. Feels real.

Not really....In ESPN you have to decide if you're gonna speed burst or charge and IMO that gives you a lot of control off top then you can put your head down, juke, stiff arm or chain them together. Madden also has some of these moves but they dont feel like they do much.

Funny. Madden's running game feels opposite to what you just said. In Madden if I bust an 8 yard run I feel like I've worked my butt off for it. If I bust an 8 yarder in ESPN it's just another ho-hum run for me.

Re: Running can best be described by one word:

its b/c of the momentum physics why madden's game feels that way...
