How's Player Progression?

In the last few Maddens, player progression has been way too generous. Eventually all rookies who got playing time became stars and every team had a player at each position rated 80+. Is this still the case?

halfway through a season and it's pretty good so far. Most haven't progressed, but the guys who are doing good are getting like +2 to +4 improvements.

They progress maybe a bit too much, but the back-ups don't go down and the rookies go up just from being on the team and stuff I guess. It is more realistic and the every 4 weeks thing is great and makes franchise twice as good as last year along. You can also practice which your team, that makes it soooo much better, and against your own defense too!

I was talking more long term...For instance, in five years will all of teams be rated 80+ overall? I have the game now so I can test this myself.
