Whatever happened to NCAA this year anyway? I always liked it better than both Madden and ESPN, but this year.......ack.

the amazing thing of all this is the fact that Madden year in and year out sell more then non sports titles as well. it is the single most selling game of all time of 2004 and every year previous selling more then the Halo's and the Grand theft Auto's.

I never said I thought they would outsell them in 2-3 years, I said I think that is VC plan. Personally I don't think they will ever outsell Madden, but then again who knows how much longer it will be called Madden.

But to use your tactics let me ask you a question. Do you really think VC/Take Two are not trying to outsell Madden and become the #1 football game?

That raises an interesting point. I wonder how many people traded in ESPN for Madden? I know I did. The trade in value only depreciated $5 dollars from the original cost so I looked at is as a 3 week rental.

My gamestop in staten island ny has 7 pre owned espn selling for 17.99.

What's wrong with it this year? If you turn off HFA (See sig) then you will get 2004 with all the improvements minus HFA....

What's up FF. The whole name of the game is about market share, more specifically increasing your own. VC wouldn't be concerned about what Maddens sell as much as what they sell (I work in a Market share environment). They are attempting to slow walk madden on this one, in other words the future madden fans spell may be broken if he takes an honest assesment of what espn has to offer, If in time (say 2-3yrs) that spell is in fact broken, then will you see a cut in maddens sales. I think, though as long as madden makes a good game of football, it will make money. VC accomplished it's objective, an increase in their market share, and a raising of the brow from madden fans. VC realizes that pretty much everyone that plays video football games was in fact raised on madden. Rome wasn't conquered in a day.
