Smile billylee0000's Madden 12 Sliders

Hey guys, figured I share some of my sliders on here as well. I've been an avid gamer of madden since madden 94. I would say i'm an ok madden player, but not a great one (big fan of franchise modes from ps2 days). My skill level for madden 12 has always been between all madden and all-pro (all-madden on all the old maddens). Big reason for that is because I feel all madden doesn't play the game realistically and I don't achieve realistic stats.

I've been adjusting these sliders for almost a year now. I'm pretty comfortable with them, but I am still constantly tweaking them. They give a pretty realistic feel as far as game play and stats. For those who are interested, check them out and post back any feedback as necessary. I most likely won't be doing much updating on these as I'm pretty busy myself, but feel free to adjust them accordingly to your play style.

Game Options:
Skill Level: Custom
Playcall Style: Conventional (I've switch to playing it in Ask Madden mainly to keep the game fresh. I've always called my own plays, but I've recently switched it to Ask Madden and haven't looked back since. I for one am guilty of calling 20 plays over and over again throughout the whole game.)
Game Clock: 10 Minutes
Play Clock: On
Strategy Pad: Off (Optional)
Coordinator Audio/Subtitles: Off (Optional)
Accelerated Clock: On
Minimum Play Clock Time: 20 Seconds
Auto Strafe: On
Auto Sprint: Off
Injuries: 40 (Injuries happen every game whether minor or not. This is a good balance between the two along with fatigue)
Fatigue: 40
Game Speed: Slow
Player Min Speed Threshold: 45 (Speed DOES matter, but not so much that it'll take over the game. at 45, it feels natural. Will you/CPU burn defenders on every play? No. But as an example, speedy receivers will have a better chance of catching a deep ball than slower ones)
Coach Mode: Off

PENALTIES
Offsides: 53
False Start: 45 (Some false starts will happen during the game as any normal game)
Holding: 50
Facemask: 55 (Facemasks will occur, but it nothing too strong to take away from the gameplay)
Defensive Pass Interference: 90 (This just doesn't occur enough against CPU, but what I have noticed is that Defensive Pass Interference does play a part in how CPU defends the receivers. I'm currently playing on 90, but 85 was where I was at before [the lower it is the more CPU tends to touch/bump the receiver].
Offensive Pass Interference: 75
KR/PR Interference: 50
Clipping: 55 (Occurs once or twice a game)
Int Grounding: 50 (Could be adjusted, ur call)
Roughing the passer: 54 (I've tweaked this for well over a year, this allows for pass rushers to hit the QB a little less than 1 second of the QB releasing the ball. I feel like this was the best medium I could find to also help influence QB play.)
Roughing the Kicker:54

Some Notes To Consider:
On Passing: QB Accuracy I feel is perfect (although u may adjust accordingly). Pair that up with WR Catching and you have a happen medium of about 60% completion rate (Which is up to par with real NFL QBs). Pass Blocking is perfect as I've been tweaking it for over a year as well. In the NFL, if a QB gets 3 seconds, he should be able to make a throw (permitted there are open receivers). Depending on their defense and play calling, the average amount of seconds you should get when dropping back is about 3 seconds. Go ahead, time it . There's a lot of factors that went into this as well. How good is your linemen? how good are the pass rushers? These were all taken into account when I tweaked these sliders. On the CPU side, CPU accuracy is at 66 because i've noticed that QB accuracy plays into awareness of the CPU QB. Along with that, this helps keep a happy medium for CPU as well (about %60 completion rate when paired with WR catching stats). Pass blocking for CPU is set up for about 4-5 seconds on a normal passing play because they tend to lack the awareness a user would have. This helps keep the game balanced enough so that the CPU can make the necessary throws. CPU screens are still an issue however. It's about 50/50 a screen play works for CPU; but this looks to be more of a developer issue in madden more than sliders (Sliders can only take it so far before u alter the sim style gameplay). Nonetheless, if CPU has a lot of failed screens, expect about 5 total team sacks a game (give or take).

On Running: Running settings have been tweaked for almost a year as well. If you don't know by now, draw plays just gut up the defense so badly in madden12. These subtle tweaks to both the player and cpu has put it so draw plays aren't as explosive anymore (though they are still effective). On average, a good running team should get about 100+ yards per 20 carries. I feel like this does a good job of it (sometimes u will get a little more and sometimes a little less). If you feel like cpu isn't getting enough yards, just tweak run block for cpu skill up 1 and it should create a lot more yardage.

On Pass Defense: Reaction time + Pass Rushing has helped create a happy medium for pass rushing. Reaction time for passing is set the way it is to create a little more space for CPU completions. Interceptions is good where it is (adjust it up 1 if u want more interceptions, but this may also make the game more lopsided as u may score more because of it). On the cpu side, reaction and pass rushing as been tweaked together to accommodate for the user being the qb. Sacks will be dependent on how the user plays the QB. Interceptions seems to be ok where it is. Pushing it down 1 has caused too little ints and leaving it where it is can cause high ints (highest i've thrown was 5 ints). But again, that all is dependent on the user and how he throws. Will he throw it into bad coverage? is he forcing throws? etc. Reaction time also plays well into how the defender defends the user team's WRs. How fast after the catch will they make a tackle? etc.

On Rush Defense: I've got a pretty good medium here. I'm still tweaking it a little, but right now its pretty good. Teams that don't run as much will average about 60-80 yards. Teams that do run more will average around 80-120 yards. However, if u feel that your rush defense is too strong, changing CPU run blocking up 1 will make it more run heavy. That I will leave up to you guys. Tackling is perfect the way it is for both cpu and user. they allow for the running back to break at least 1 tackle before they are taken down.

Special Team Notes: FG accuracy lowered for CPU purposes. This way they have a chance of missing a FG. Punt Accuracy lowered a little so balls aren't always landing inbetween the 0-10 yardline.

Again, feel free to post up your game stats etc. on here. I would like to see how others are also doing with these sliders.

Re: billylee0000's Madden 12 Sliders

Here is a game i just played in exhibition. I was leading 10-0 by the second quarter so i spent a lot of the game managing the time by running and throwing short passes. Got sacked quite a bit, but that was on me. For some reason packers were calling a lot of short plays and screens. Good game overall.

Second game I just played in exhibition. Niners started the game blitzing majority of the time. Matt Flynn threw 5 picks for me in the first half so i benched in in favor of TJack. Came back from behind and from in OT. A lot of my throws had to be thrown to my slot receiver because they were covering Rice and Williams so well. Their defense was forcing me to throw it and eventually I started getting throws off. Niners were game managing majority of the time because i was behind. They ran quite and bit and did a lot of short passes.

Re: billylee0000's Madden 12 Sliders

Well i didnt have time to post stats from the first game, but i was facing the packers with the bills and it was a shoot out. My corners could not cover Jordy nelson to save their lives. One time he was on a streak route and my corner just moved out of the and he blew past him off the line. score ended up being 31-50. I'm going to test out another game later and post stats.

Re: billylee0000's Madden 12 Sliders

updated the sliders because on average, player (as in you) was getting too many sacks. improved CPU QB play (should still average around 60% completion, but the elite qbs will average more). Increased CPU's running ability.

Re: billylee0000's Madden 12 Sliders

Just tried these out playing with the Denver Broncos at home against Jacksonville. I made a few stupid mistakes in the game (missed xp etc.) but other than that, it was a quite close game in which I climbed back on the second half after being down 9-20 at the end of first half. Here are the stats from the game:
