having madden problem (ps2)

Every time I play a 2player game (offline) my madden freezes up. It suddenly freezes, the TV makes a buzzing sound, and the analog sticks rumble. Madden is the only game this happens to and I have been playing madden for years and this is the first time this has happend.

I thought it was the game but I rented madden and the same thing occured. I asked my buddy to bring his ps2 over and the same thing happend as well. We both own the early version of ps2 & not the "thin" ps2.

Anyone experience something like this?

I'm not a genius by any stretch of the imagination, but if we take a look at your problem mathematically here for a second...

You need three things in order to play a video game.

TV + Console (in your case PS2) + game (again in your case Madden)

Tv works
Brought over another Madden same problem, so its not the game

Hmmmmmmmmm

So to recap three variables in that equation. Two have been eliminated. I don't know what it could be...

It seems that hardly anyone on the big gaming boards are willing to admit that this happens. I did a google search and there are plenty of others that experience the exact same thing.

Is it because that there are no answers to this problem or the fans of Madden have come to accept the problems related madden as commonplace with each new release?

I guess I am wondering where the outrage is?

Hey man I feel your pain. I had the same problem with three different copies on different PS2's. Someone mentioned on this board before that it may happen when you use the full house offense. I stopped using it and I have not had a freeze since. EA needs to release the game later and test all the damn bugs. How about releasing the game after all the final roster spots are determined? Anyway hope that works for you.

I never ran full house offense but I notice that it freezes when I use hot routes to pass protect. Every time.
