Can defensive pass interference occur even when the player catches the ball? That happened to me in the game and i'm not sure if that can happen for real or not, i thought its only called if he is interfered from catching a ball that he could have.

Yes can occur inwhich case you would decline the penalty and take the result of the play..

Unless the play was like a completed pass for 5 yards and you're left with 4th and 5. Then you would want to take the penalty for an automatic first down.
