Anyone else feel this way?

This year for the first time in a while I can see myself not getting madden on the first day it is for sale, and possibly not at all. I have gotten to were I hardly turn the ps2 on but did pick up ncaa and like it a lot. But the past couple of years madden has been very dissapointing for me. I mean I play it but i wasnt really into it and cant really see myself playing it this year. It just has seemed like the same game and a roster update isnt enough for me. I guess after reviews about it being really good gameplay then I will pick it up but if not I can pass it up. Maybe my big video game high is over and I am on a downfall which is kinda sad with the next-gen coming. So what I am asking is are you passing the game up this year?

No actually this is the first year Madden looks like it might be pretty good. Next Gen wise.... If you like NCAA, chances are Madden will probably be a bit more polished all around.

I haven't bought Madden on release day in the last few years. But I have to admit, I am intrigued by the 360 version of Madden this year. This will probably be the first year I buy Madden on releasae day in some time.

Same here, this is actually the first year I'm really looking forward to Madden 360. Since this is the second year which is usually a great year on a system for a sports game franchise, and since NCAA 360 is so good, I really can't wait until Madden launches. As for the original poster, maybe it's because he is looking for the current-gen Madden and if I was in that boat I wouldn't be that excited at all either so in that regards I agree.

Ok...

Do you play the game with the mindset of:

"This didnt happen in 2k?"

"Damn, something told me not to buy Madden this year?"

"Aw hell no!! That guy didnt even touch me and I got sacked, see, maaan, Madden really needs collision detection and gang tackling!!"

Or..

Do you play Madden and enjoy it for what its worth?

I have never played NFL2k5 and I have bought Madden every year since 99 on PS1. I know what to expect most of the time, get suprised the rest of the time and I enjoy it.

I dont see what the big fuss is about.

I play it with the mindset, is this game fun? Does it play a believable game of football? Am I enjoying this game?

I just didn't think Madden has been very fun for the last few years.

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

Last year was the very first year I didn't have Madden. I bought it on release day, but I took it back within a week because it sucked. I'll buy it again this year, for current gen, and if it sucks, I'll just take it back again.

But there's no friggin way in hell I'm buying a 360 for next-gen Madden unless the reviews are overwhelmingly good.
