cpu's time of possession

the cpu usually hikes the ball with about 30 seconds left on the play clock which is nowhere near being realistic. to me, this is a bigger deal than it seems because i get the ball so much and so often, none of my defensive players get the chance to rack up pro bowl numbers. zach thomas is at like 100 tackles for the season and my leading tackler is roy williams with 34 (and he just got knocked out for the remainder of the season). i would imagine it would really affect my defensive players progression not having the numbers or pro bowls, wouldn't it? then i played the colts and saw how peyton manning does all of his line antics and it really runs down the clock to a more realistic time. is there anyway i can set the rest of the qb's to do the stuff manning does? i'd rather have every quarter back act like peyton manning and have more realistic stats, rather than getting a game high of 5 tackles.

For realistic stats, I find that 12 minutes with the accelerated clock works pretty good.

finally someone who cared about tackles stats, i play with 10 min quarters and in my franchise i used urlacher always, got user tackles and got 64 tackles in 7 games..on par for a 150 tackle year!

Re: cpu's time of possession

It's always been a problem on Madden...like mentioned above, 12 or 13 with the accel clock will usually get the right amount of plays. Without it, I usually use 9 minutes and (this is important) let my own play clock run down as far as the CPU does, usually around 32-34 seconds left when it has selected its play. This will help keep the TOP equal at least, even though it can't be realistic playing shorter quarters than 15.

Through all the years I've played Madden, I, like many others, have found that getting the correct number of total plays is far more important to realism than playing full 15 minute quarters.
