XBOX/PS2 Fixing Franchise SIm Stats

Hey guys, im trying to work on altering the injury and coach philosiphy by controlling all teams in a franchise to get accurate sim numbers. Heres what i did so far:

sim injuries +5
COACH Philosiphy
+8 pass
+8 off aggressiveness
-8 RB1 RB2

Here are my last 2 trials (the others were similar as well)
Yr 1

Passing
3 QBs 4000yds or more (4,385 highest)
15 total QBS over 3000yds
11 QBs 20tds or more (34 highest)
20 Qbs 15ints or more (22 highest)
9 Qbs 90.0 rating or better (102.6 highest)

Rushing
7 RBs 1500yds or more (1848 highest)
21 RBs 1000yds or more
5 RBs 350 carries or more (381 highest)
12 RBs 10tds or more (14 highest)

Recieving
1 WR 1500yds or more (1544 highest)
19 WRs 1000yds or more
11 WRs 10tds or more (16 highest)

Defense
25 players 100 tackles or more (176 highest)
8 players 15 or more sacks (22 highest)
high ints was 9,8,8

Yr2

Passing
2 QBs 4000yds or more (4,182 highest)
16 total QBs 3000yds or more
16 QBs 20tds or more (34 highest)
20 QBs 15ints or more (24 highest)
3 QBs 90.0 rating or better (96.5 highest)

Rushing
8 RBs 1500yds or more (1959 highest)
25 RBs 1000yds or more
9 RBs 350 carries or more (431 highest)
8 RBs 10tds or more (16 highest)

Recieving
2 WRs 1500yds or more (1778 highest)
20 WRs 1000yds or more
13 WRs 10tds or more (17 highest)

Defense
32 Players with 100tackles or more (160 highest)
6 Players with 15 sacks or more (19 highest)
high ints 10,7,7

Compare these with the 2007 NFL Numbers

Passing
5 QBs 4000yds or more (4,418 highest)
14 total QBS over 3000yds
10 QBs 20tds or more (31 highest)
11 Qbs 15ints or more (23 highest)
8 Qbs 90.0 rating or better (101.0 highest)

Rushing
5 RBs 1500yds or more (1815 highest)
22 RBs 1000yds or more
1 RBs 350 carries or more (416 highest)
9 RBs 10tds or more (28 highest)

Recieving
0 WR 1500yds or more (1369 highest)
19 WRs 1000yds or more
5 WRs 10tds or more (13 highest)

Defense
30+ players 100 tackles or more (165 highest)
2 players 15 or more sacks (17 highest)
high ints was 10,10,8

As you can see most stats are pretty darn close to the NFL numbers, but it still needs some tweaking. I will be gone for the rest of the day but if anyone wants to tweak based on what i had go right ahead. Im thinking maybe boosting the COACH Philosiphy Pass by 2 more up to 10, and perhaps decreasing the defensive aggressiveness by a couple, and shifting the defensive Run/Pass towards passing by a couple

Great work, Mike! The RB numbers are the only things that still look a little high (you probably already noticed). I take it you are using 4 min quarters?

I dont understand what youre asking? I am just simulating the franchises to see the results. And yes the RB numbers are still slightly high but not too bad. I just need to figure out how to get the passing numbers slightly higher to lower the RB numbers without increasing the patting TD/INT which are already way too high

Re: XBOX/PS2 Fixing Franchise SIm Stats

The only slider that actually had an effect in the last 2 versions ('06 and '07) is the run / pass...

Are you seeing additional carries for the second back?

That slider hasn't worked since '05 and it's the most frustrating, b/c the amount of running plays are pretty accurate in the 'out of the box' engine, they just make all the carries go to the starter...

Are you seeing anything that indicates that the other sliders you're tweaking have any effect?

I do something very similar, but instead of global percentages, I use 49 % Run for the run heavy teams, boost the others about 1-2 points, sit anyone who's got over 100 carries at week 4 and anyone who's got more than 200 at week eight...

The injury slider and taking all starters completely off the depth chart for 3rd down back position though week 12 helps get some carries for the backups...

Nice work tho...

I just tried these ones out and another set, but that one didnt work at all. Im going to be trying more simming later tonight. Im pretty sure the RB1 2 slider does absolutely nothing, but there are some theories that RB1 RB2 actually means RB1 - halfback RB2 - fullback, which i think is correct. So basically the slider is useless

Re: XBOX/PS2 Fixing Franchise SIm Stats

after extensive testing today, ive decided the best settings i could come up with were:
Injuries 107 (sim)
Coach Philosiphy
+8 pass
+3 off aggression

control all 32 teams and change these settings for all teams except for your own. switch it back to normal when you play them

Yup, this has pretty much been the 'fix' since they broke the HB1 / HB2 slider after '05...

Still not convinced that the O Agg slider does anything...

Did you test with and without?

What stats do you think are affected by it?

Thanks for running these tests, btw...

Great info...
