What Game Has The Best Franchise?

I know this isn't the proper thread, but I notice that most of you are always in this forum. So, honestly, what game are you playing right now that has the best franchise experience? I'm not content with the Madden experience.

Actually none.

I've played Madden, which has it's flaws but is ok.

NHL 09 doesn't look any different from 08 but lacks the umph to push it over the hump.

The show is just boring to me. IDK why.

MLB 2k has the most intrigue for me because they hide the prospects withing computer created players in the minors by their initials. So they have potential but the gameplay lacks to even try and start one.

I'll stick with NHL 09 BAP.

Re: What Game Has The Best Franchise?

I think franchise mode is lacking on next-gen systems because progression, ratings and CPU roster logic is a difficult think to implement. I don't think there is a game out there that adjusts ratings after each game.

I don't think there are games out there where the ratings mean much. I personally think there are too many attributes in most games. Play Tecmo Super Bowl for ratings perfection. You can EASILY tell which players are good and which ones suck by looking at the ratings, and more importantly, by how they perform on the field.

Roster logic has never been good either for any game. If you could mix Tecmo Super Bowl with the first version of Front Office Football, you would have a perfect game.

I disagree. Trade logic is horrible, Free Agents are a mess, and injuries are all over the place. Plus, all the stuff you just mentioned is rendered useless after a few years, as even a mediocre team has enough to go on a spending spree. It's got a good amount a features and a strong foundation, but it needs tuning desperately on the AI side, and substance from the feature side. I would actually agree with whoever said MLB 2K's was good, if they could get their features to work right. I think, though, if you combine the strengths of both the baseball titles and tune it up, you've got one killer franchise mode.
