2010- The Pressure is On!

Hey Guys,

Like many of you I woke up this morning to read that there will be no DLC for this years version of Madden. I know this is a difficult pill for many of us to swallow but this is the reality of our current situation. The community here at OS is passionate about this game and we deserve a better product than what EA has put before us. With that being said here are my ideas on how we should all move forward from here on out until the release of 2010.

1) We have provided Ian and Phil with more than enough information on what would make 2010 an awesome game. I have seen guys like LBzRulz and countless others put together posts highlighting what areas of the game need to be addressed. Our job is done!! The Kumbaya and hug fest session with the community is over!! They are intelligent guys who need to find a way to get OUR ideas implemented into next years game. Plain and simple. It is not our job to act as free consultants at this point of development. We should now close our mouths and open our eyes to see some evidence that our community interaction has truly made a difference.

2) As a community we need to put together a top ten "Make or Break" list. Meaning, if EA does not include these basic items in 2010 as a community we should ban together and not purchase the game. My top ten in no particular order are (Refs on the field, crowd atmosphere, chain gangs, upgraded franchise mode, cpu sliders, team specific playbooks & play styles, player ratings that matter, enhanced ESPN style presentation,on line franchises). As consumers we must make EA raise the bar in what they deliver us. Since they can't seem to set the standard of what an authentic football game should entail. We are going to have to do it for them. If they don't meet our basic requests then it is clearly evident where their priorities truly lie.

Ian and Phil have a huge task ahead of them and I really do feel they have the will and talent to make 2010 a spectacular game. The have now officially run out of excuses and from here on out will now be judged on their own merit and work ethic. The pressure is on and as a community we expect nothing less than a great game. We have have provided enough forum interaction by providing countless threads of wish lists, team specific animations, and beta testing. Now let's just be quiet and watch this years development cycle take place and make an informed consumer decision in August of 2010. Be easy fellas!

Ian and Phil work for EA Sports. EA Sports is evil. Therefore... Ian and Phil are evil.

Good God, these forums sound more like GameFAQs every day.

I dont think they feel any pressure at all cause they just sold millions of games even though it was not that good at all. Heck why change a thing when every year the selling results are better. Buisness wise they are doing great as sales does show this.

We can complain all we want but in the end we still by whatever they dish out so it really doesnt matter. Until they feel the loss (which they never will because most dont view $60 as alot of $$$) And most just by it anyways.

All we can do is hope that Ian practice's what he preach's.

Was it not Ian that told us the DLC was all but done? Now it's deep sixed???

Was it not EA that hyped how much presentation was prioritized this year. We lost player intros and still no SB celebration. Arguably, this prioritized element is WEAKER this year.

Exactly WHY would you give these guys ANY credibility at this point?

He never made any such statement. He did make a Statement about a month ago saying DLC was still up in the air...
