I chatted with Ian about this shot in the Alpha. The problem with the one in the Alpha is that it was really pulled back far away and you could see the low-res crowd. It was very disconnecting. The idea of the scene itself was great, but the camera was awful because of all the low-res stuff making it on-screen and also just not being as tight as it should be.

What I suggested was that they pull in, blur the background out some, and focus with a tight shot. Scenes like this have strong importance in-game as they communicate a noteworthy event (a starter being injured and attempting to recover), so you definitely want to give it the full treatment.

Good Job there, Madden Team. Keep the momentum going with this shot philosophy and I guarantee you'll be getting compliments about these scenes for the entire cycle of Madden 10.
I'm glad you told them about this because it will make the post/pre play shots looks so much better. They need to be tight and upclose. Just like they were in Madden 2001. That's why everyone was going gaga over that game.
The post play stuff was the best seen at that time. Another reason why APF looks so good. We need those tight camera shots with the DOF blur. People will have to do double takes.

I was going crazy when I saw the footy. There was the suction block and the throwing animation which is all I really noticed. The rest looked ace. I'm stoked for Madden. First time I've said that since before I had an xbox 360.

I don't think anyone noticed... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCvAdSNwh58 on this video if you pause at 0:36 you can get a good look at the back of Jimmy's helmet. It is a revolution speed... like chris cooley and justin tuck wear.
