Good idea in theory, but it'd just be too much work for too little payoff. I mean, if they're going to put that much effort into commentary, I'd like to see it be for commentary for every game.

That doesn't really have an effect on the game. John Madden is the real deal no matter what, in fact the game is named after him!

Normally I would agree with you but considering this is MADDEN 10 I think he probably wouldn't mind doing it. Plus just because he is retired doesn't mean he is going to go off and die. He will still be doing things here and there just not as much.
