What is Next Gen football in your opinion???

I ask this simply because after seeing the E3 review, screen shots, and new trailer for Back Breaker makes me reevaluate my thoughts on what can be done on the next gen consoles.

Madden 10 IMO has made HUGE strides since Ian has took the reigns and I already have Madden 10 paid for as well as NCAA 10.

I just want to know what you think next gen football should be and if you think any of the new football games this year make you say....

" Now this is next gen football at its finest! "

great post. i am excited for the first time for madden on next gen.......but not because im blown away. im am just happy that they r putting in things that should have been in from the very beginning!

I think Nex Gen Football would be perfect gameplay. No flaws. Amazing AI, playcalling, player tendencies. That would be Next Gen Football for sure.

But that may be asking for too much.

if they would have started out adding things to the game i cant imagine how amazing the game would b this year. thats y im happy ian is in charge. next year we will start 2 see true next gen football

There are so many things that could be done to make it even better, but hell I'm not a developer I don't know how hard it is to make a game .. I'm sure it's tough, especially when you got millions of people breathing down your neck, watching every move you make.

I always enjoy my Franchises .. in fact I always enjoy Madden every year .. except 08 because of the HUGE franchise glitch ..

The little things updated each year are enough for me .. I don't worry about if a RB has 200 more yards in a season than he should, it's a game, not real life ..

In all honesty, it appears like Next Gen football isn't much more than the same game play and features wrapped up in prettier graphics. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've been saying Madden '10 graphics coupled with Madden '05 features and game play would be an incredible game. Still I feel it's kind of a joke to call it something profound like "Next Gen." It's the same game that's just gotten progressively better graphically. I think true Next Gen football would need never-before seen levels of depth and immersion. Madden developers need to go above and beyond the 2k5's and iterations of the PS2 and XBox. With this year's game, it looks like they're at least moving in that direction, finally reaching the standards set by those games five years ago. But that's the easy part. I don't know about you, but I'm excited to see what they cook up for us next year and further down the road.

My idea of next gen, besides the obvious graphic updates can be summed up with one word: content.

I'd like each team to have a story, each player to have a pulse. Color commentators to be aware of my franchise history. Different commentators per the prestige of the game.

Basically, I want every game (just as in real life) to feel different. I want every team (just as in real life) to feel different. I want every player (just as in real life) to feel different.

I thought all-pro football 2k8 was going in the right direction as the Legends all have noticeable distinctions in their skill set.
