Does 'Fair Catch' work?

The instruction booklet says to press Triangle (PS3) but it never works for me. I have lost the ball several times because the catcher will not signal the fair catch even when I press the button...anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

I never have a problem with fair catch. Call it early. If you see you have no blocking, call it.

Make sure you have selected the receiver before you press Y. The blue circle needs to be around the guy calling for the fair catch. Also the opposing players need to be far enough away or it won't let you.

Make sure the receiver is highlighted "circle around the guy" and then call a fair catch. Before the ball is snapped you can switch control of the punt returner so you are ready.

Thanks...I will try. It might be because I haven't been choosing the receiver and then pressing it too late when the player is automatically chosen.

yeah, it works fine. You just have to be on the returner and signal it with enough time for the animation to play before the catch (about 1 second)
