I thought the rule was that no contact is allowed beyond 5 yards, and even within 5 yards it's only before the ball is in the air. However when playing the computer my guys get held and bumped well after the ball is in the air and beyond 5 yards, with nothing called. For the most part it's something I've come to live with, but even with PI slider to max I almost never see this called in the game.

Is my rule interpretation incorrect?

Every madden game has had this issue.

they aren't pressing, yet they are holding preventing the wr from even running his route.

not that alone the db gets there before the ball everytime and makes contact this should be called like 2x a game

This has been a hugh issue with madden for years. Nothing much has been done to solve the issue. Will it ever get resolved in future maddens. Who knows.

It probably has something to do with (once again) online play. The Madden team probably doesn't want guys endlessly chucking bombs in hopes of drawing Pass Interference. They probably absolutely minimized the calls to prevent the exploits.

However, that (ONCE AGAIN) punishes offline players who never, EVER see a call happen.

If this is the reason, which I believe it is, this is just one more reason online play has ruined modern day Madden.

I've noticed that the pass lead is a lot more sensitive then in past year's. It is much easier to lead your players too much.
