for guys that hold out, i just bring them to a 1-year contract and sign em that way with a small bonus. All you gotta increase is the non-guaranteed money if you have the cap space. Then during pre-season or whatever, re-sign them to a longer deal, and you won't take a big signing bonus hit. Or you can wait til the offseason, but they usually want a lot of money doing it that way. But they'll at least sign.

yeh, setting it to CPU sign draft picks does it all.

I guess this is sorta realistic. Eli Manning and John Elway anyone?

But he didn't get to trade them to another team. He got nothing for them. How's that realistic? In real life a rookie can't just sign for another team because he can't agree a contract. He can be traded or holdout for the season and re enter the draft.

It apparently occurs wiith higher rated guys regardless of position. Generated draft classes contain MUCH higher rated players and they can be found in later rounds unlike NCAA imports.

My last draft my 1st AND 4th rounders held out. I eventually got the 4th signed at a significant increase, guy turned out to be an 80+ player his rookie year. Didn't have the funds to sign my #1 and had to let him go. For some reason, when you do that, the guy ends up signed with another team before you hit your pre-season.

Yeah, same thing happened to me during one of my years in franchise. The fact that he wanted a lot of money felt realistic, but the fact that I couldn't sign him, and so he went to another team immediately, was just odd.

Re: Has Any have trouble signing there 1st Round pick??

I haven't done the draft in Madden 11 yet, but in 10 I would sign the 2nd round-7th round guys, and then let the CPU sign the 1st rounder. If I tried to sign him myself...like you said, it would get ridiculous.
