Looking to learn playing Madden

I just downloaded the demos of Madden and NCAA 11. Both of them look amazing! The game play, however, is extremely confusing to me.
Do you guys think that I should drop $60 for the Madden 11 to learn playing? Or I should got for an easier alternative(if there is any)?

First... if you're looking for an alternative to Madden, you won't find it. While it's true there are football games available, they aren't Madden. And any game not named Madden is just a game. Madden is a phenomenon.

The controls of Madden have always been a deterrent to new players coming to the series. While it's a daunting task and you will have to swallow alot of pride, if you love video game football and the competition that goes with it - there is no equal.

Other games may have better tackles, smoother throwing, etc... NONE have the depth of Madden nor the culture that comes with it.

Madden is fun, but it's not the game you play for fun. The competition is far too good. Odds are if you are casually approaching the series as merely being 'something to do' you're going to get killed and it won't be much fun for you. Once you learn it though, there is no equal.

Thank you for your opinion. Guess I will just get familiar with the demo first!
