I need an opinion on my strategy

Alright. So whenever I play Madden 11, 80% of the time I use a 3 or 4 receiver set and put my number 1 and 2 receivers atthe number 3 or 4 spot for those formations. Well, if you run an (i think its called) all slant play where the two outside receivers go strait but the two inside receivers go strait, but make a slight cut inside. Something i have noticed is most of the time the middle is wide open and one of those(if both) are wide open about 8 or 9 yards into the route. I was wondering why that is. I just cant seem to see how they are wide open most of the time. Any feedback is welcome
