fantasy draft strategies

Hey all, I am a big fantasy draft man when it comes to madden and was wondering if you guys have any good ways of getting a nice overall team. I usually go defense first and a nice reciever with the first couple of picks but wondering what you guys do. Also are pre season games woth playing? Thanks

Pgaither84 has a pretty good page about fantasy drafts

Here is the link

As for Preseason games--this year should be more important as player's ratings will be revealed after each preseason games. plus you will also have to make roster cuts which should make the preseason matter a bunch more this year.

I basically just go in with a mindset on how I want to build my team, whether it's youth(am I actually gonna play more then a few games?), defense, etc and let the pieces fall.

However it's nice to think of a few guys at some positions that won't be rated high by other teams but you'll be able to snag as solid contributors

I used his guide for my offline dynasty and it got me a really solid team, but for offline dynasties it's a completely different story. Eric Berry was the cheating super-fast progressing rookie last year, I'm sure Cam Newton will gladly take his place on M12.

Re: fantasy draft strategies

I actually found the madden guide that gamestop sells to have a good thing on drafting fantasy teams. Goes something like this:

1. Qb is most important.
2. A pass rushing RDE is next
3. A good left Tackle
4. A good CB

Forgot the rest but basically it was about being able to throw the ball and protect the QB vs. hurrying him and covering his recievers.

MLB and some other positions were surprisingly low on the list.
