Is DPP Essentially Another Feature From Head Coach?

I was just thinking about Head Coach, and I was thinking about the original one in particular and remember it having a similar feature. Each player had 3 overalls: their floor rating, their ceiling rating, and their actual overall rating.

If the player practiced well, he would go into the game near his ceiling. However, if the player struggled to start off the game, his overall would dip down more towards his floor.

So basically, it seems to me that the consistency + DPP feature in Madden this year is a more evolved version of what the original HC had. Am I just delirious due to exhaustion, or am I on to something here?

Even if it is the same feature from HC, I would be insanely happy. Head Coach was the greatest career mode in a football game ever.

Also, it shouldn't shock you that we're seeing a bunch of HC features seeing as how the head Franchise guy was the lead designer on HC. It really excites me for the future of offline franchise

Absolutely agreed. I loved those games (although the first one was too easy). I like that DPP affects the tendencies of players rather than just their overall ratings like the original HC did.
