Madden 12: The Broken Game
Lets be constructive and list the things that are broken/dont work in madden 12:
NOTE: This is on All-madden ONLINE play (OF). It should also be noted that OF coding is entirely different from offline coding. OF All-Madden is some combination of offline pro and all-pro in terms of AI and difficulty.
- On fair catches (anywhere on the field) the returner will run away from the ball automatically after signalling for a fair catch.
- Related to the above, the cpu gunners oftentimes get catch interference after a fair catch is called for.
- Man-align does not work. LBs do not look for their assignments. CB1 does not cover WR1 in twin sets oftentimes.
- Play clock glitch after injuries.
- Roughly 75% of tackles are hitsticks.
- Players in deep blue zones do not play the ball or man EVER. Unrealistically, they turn their hips and anticipate being burnt, allowing the WR to easily beat them every time.
- There is no player momentum on offense. NONE. Any player can move laterally just as fast as they can move straight forward.
- Defensive players are "locked out" of action for 1-2 secs during catches using certain catch animations. This means no tackles or swats or jumps can be made with the players...they simply watch the offensive player get the ball and often run past them.
- the pocket NEVER moves. The dline never plays the ball. the oline never attempts to seal the edge through lateral movement to the edge.
- Finesse moves do not work. Bull rushes do not exist.
- There is no WR/DB interaction on any level, which is odd because M11 had some.
- Cutback/outside runs are far too effective because the D jogs/takes very poor angles and does not attempt to break contain.
- Chopblocks occur most plays and completely take D players out of the play.
- If both a WR and DB attempt to play a high pass, the pass will warp approximately 5 yds further downfield over both of their heads.
- QB moonball throws are far too accurate. QBs can throw a ball 70 yds in the air and likely around 50 yds in the air. QBs should not be able to throw higher/further than a punter can kick.
- QB movement in general is far too fast and fluid since there is little momentum involved.
- Duck passes to the ground occur far too often.
- Framerate issues abound whenever non-core animations occur.
- There is no such thing as legit pass interference. It is never called unless u tackle the target before the ball arrives.
- Coin toss glitch (OT same as opening)
- Rain glitch
- Accelerated clock glitch
- Random momentum/tilting plays far too great a role in deciding games (much like with NHL).
- Defensive matchups do not work
- Offensive presnap adjustments (like hot routes) oftentimes cause defensive players to change positions, switch sides of the field for no reason.
- Show-blitz causes DBs to switch positions in certain formations
- Jukes are 5-6 yards long
- Trucking does not exist
- Gang tackling is rare. Random hitsticks are the far more common form of tackling seen. Extra tacklers still oftentimes lead to illogical shed tackles (like M11)
- Injuries, the rate of and type of, have no basis in reality.
- OF season 2 schedule is the same as season 1.
- On screens players are blocked before the pass.
