Keep my RB or risk developing a new one

I am currently in an online CCM with 31 other users. I have the Carolina Panthers and started Johnathan Stewart for the season. (Reached season goal of 1600 yards) Entering year 2 I realized I want a fast back as Stewart has broken long runs but doesn't have that breakaway speed and agility. He currently has 40k XP entering year two and im stuck. Should i spend that on 1 speed point and save up for another speed point? Buy Quick Development? Start Deangelo? I will have the 29th or 30th pick in the draft (Made it to NFC Championship game) and am also debating on drafting Satomi Sakamoto (96 Speed 80 carry Normal Development)

What would you guys do? Jstewart is 90 speed, 91 acc, 85 trucking, 93 carry

I think Stew would be plenty fast.. Spend his xp on the development trait now and then up his acceleration over time to get that breakaway feel you want.

Keep JStew, but draft a speed back. There should be a guy who might not be highly rated but has that kind of speed that you can pick up. I've had success in previous Maddens finding guys with low injury ratings, etc. but who have high speed (you probably arent counting on your speed guys to be able to take big hits anyways).

Stewarts 90 speed rating is pretty solid, though. Once he hits top speed, I'd find it odd to not have him be able to break one off to the endzone.

Why are you not 'seemingly' using DeAngelo Williams? He already has 93 speed/acc. That team already has the change of pace, inside, and outside running threats. And you should also have Armond Smith, he's like 94 speed, and 96 acc.

If you're league hasn't adjusted the 'speed threshold' that is likely why you may feel this way. I've seen Stew break 20, 30, 40+ yd runs.

I have had to make similar decisions. Honestly I would almost encourage you to draft a speed back but to keep JStewart as a "just in case" option. I was able to nab CJ Spiller from the Bills and his additional speed made him much more useful on higher difficulties and such (he also could be used as a #3 WR)...
