Ok, legit question here....

Does anyone know why EA has yet to add the practice squad to the game? Is it a legal thing? A laziness thing?

Has anyone read anything anywhere or heard anything anywhere as to why? Or perhaps just some speculation. Just a legit curious question.

Dunno but it doesn't really need to be in the game does it? Pick 8 guys and put them in the free agent list as it's essentially the same thing, any team can sign PS members to their active roster at any time.

It's such an easy thing to incorporate in the game. And yes, practically the same thing, but they would gain XP from practice and they can only be signed off of practice squads if they are added to the 53-man roster of another team. I can't believe they haven't added video highlights of college players in the draft. Easy aswell. "X breaks 100 tackles for 99 yard TD" - I WANNA SEE IT!

Does it "need" to be in the game? Most likely no. Your correct, they are essentially free agents.....however the other poster is right....they would gain xp...and due to the rules of keeping guys from other teams PS' for a min amount of time would be a nice touch and add a layer to the game.

It just baffles me, that after 25 years it's not something they've added to the game.

Thought they added this feature 2-3 years ago. Don't remember exactly what year, but I swear it was there for a year and then gone again.

I dont recall it ever being in the game....not saying your wrong, just saying if it has been, I dont ever remember it.

Perhaps next gen....which sadly, I dont plan on getting for a little while.

The Practice Squad was in a version of Madden for the PSP.

I read that the dev team does not see the point in adding the practice squad.

Guys that work on Madden, worked on NFL Head Coach 09 & the practice squad was under consideration for NFLHC 10 (if their had been one) at least that's what I was told by a member of that dev team (Looman).

ANSWER: EA is lazy and the developers don't think it needed....

Because I LOVE having to cut someone to sign a player when I don't have to.
