What was the reason for hand towels

Being on the side? When EA put them in the game, why did they put them on the side? Did they give a reason for this?

I'd imagine it was just because it's where the majority of players have them.

I can't even think of a quarterback that wears a towel on the side.

QB's are pretty much the only ones that don't. Every non-QB I've ever seen with a towel has had it on the side.

I guess when I think of nfl players the greats come to mind first. And they all wore towels in the middle. Back in the day. Oh well.

i know of atleast one instance where a WR would wear one only for himself, but also for his QB to use to wipe his hands in the huddle. Same thing for a G who wears one so the C can use so the center doesnt have to worry about it getting in the way of the snap.

It was something to do with having the animated towels in the middle causing clipping through the players. I remember Ian Cummings saying they couldn't get it to work right a few years back.
