How is injury length calculated?

This is exactly right. I've dealt with this a lot already.

It always depends on what week you're in and what the report says in that week. So basically, if you're still in Wild Card Round (have not advanced) and the report says he is out for 4 weeks, he'll be back for the Super Bowl. Basically you always count the current week when subtracting weeks. Super Mario will be back.

This probably won't help but I did notice one difference in injuries this year. In past games, say a player had a 6 week injury. By that week 6, I would notice he might miss an additional week or 2 being listed as "probable." Maybe it's my imagination but in this year's game, there are no more probable or questionable weeks... when the injury length is over, the player is 100%.

Again, maybe I'm imagining things but I swear remembering there being probable/questionable weeks in prior games.

Nope you're right. It's been out the game for a few years now. Typical EA sports..
