Some good news for PC users...

Hey guys. It's nothing huge, but for those of us who prefer a "clean screen" when playing, there is some headway being made over at mvpmods.

Aside from a few stadium retouches, there has been little else. Recently though, there has been a release for Xbox360 buttons and now a release to remove the "LATE SWING/EARLY SWING" display that floats mid-screen after some swings. Also, there was a version released with a smaller ball cursor for pitching.

Credit of course goes to the mod creator (Wicked420 on the site):

I'm sure many have thought to look in on what they're doing, but this is for those who maybe have the PC version and weren't aware that mvpmods had guys attacking this. I'd recommend checking out the various other mods as well(mostly stadiums), as they definitely help the visual appeal of the game.

Enjoy

Thank you for the update. They have done some great mods in the past. It's good to hear they are working on 2K9.

And...it starts.

I know there were already a few stadium mods, but I have a feeling this is the first real taste of what modding can do for this game.

I hope so much that we get that AI aggression patch along with the console users...

I agree. When I logged on today and saw that, I said "And now it begins"...lol.

Also, from the responses by Ron over at the 2K board, it appears the patch for PC will be cumulative (both #1 and #2 for the consoles).

That's not confirmed, mind you, but it is potentially good news and means the aggressiveness issue should be addressed as well. Things are beginning to look up, it seems

There is also a mod to remove the ball cursor completely when pitching...I tried it last night and although it doesn't solve the "easy pitching problem", I threw more pitches than I would have otherwise...

I don't believe we can use the legends in Franchise, I wonder if a MOD could tweak it so we would be able to play with legends in franchise?

That would be cool...

Well, we have our first cyberfaces popping up. Not perfect, but Ryan Howard is looking better:

Should see thing improve as guys get more comfortable with manipulating this stuff.

Re: Some good news for PC users...

Also, it seems that someone was able to get into a player file and change their batting stance!

From eamods.com:

"Not hard coded, I switched JR's stance to Ivan Rodriguez stance"

This should mean that it's not "locked down" and might be able to be opened up in-game (doesn't mean it will be, but the possibility seems to be there).

Worst case, it would appear that at least PC users might be able to edit stances/pitching motions once more stuff is figured out
