We are monitoring and fixing issues in this thread.
Thanks for your patience.
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Man....I made the changes and then played a game on the PS3 with this set.
Some faces edited on the PS4(and I guess in essence created for the PS4 version) just do not translate well to the PS3.
I haven't played many PS3 games this year and I figured to give it a shot.
Now I really miss the classic stadiums on the PS4....because I don't know if I can go back to the PS3 version.
In fact I purchased a copy of the PS3 version, which should arrive tomorrow, solely to check out the differences between it and the PS4 version.
I build my rosters on the PS4 as well and suspected CFs not to transfer very well but wanted to check it out personally which I will hopefully tomorrow.
I also wanted to see if the PS3 version displayed Baserunner windows, Pitchers pitch speed & executed Pickoff attempts in CPU vs CPU games as they are all absent in the PS4 version. Plus of course there are those Old Time Stadiums to enjoy on the PS3.
I think that is also perhaps the reason many people rate PS4 built rosters fairly lower than what should be expected because they are using them on a PS3 version and things just don't translate well.
Like You and Bigbie2010, I also edit the authentic fielding gloves, batting gloves & bats and want to see how those transfer over to a PS3 game.
Well, I guess I will find out tomorrow.
Thanks for all your Great Rosters Past, Present & Future,
Don
Yes. Only the basic helmet allows for non flap helmets. Not sure why helmet type is locked???
Helmets.... I haven't quite tested this but a quick run-through on locked helmets I have seen have been on players imported from '14. When I created a player in '15 I could export that player and have the helmet not locked on what it was when created. That may be a thought. I haven't gotten to player creation point on my 2008 So I am not 100% certain.
Well just checked out the differences between using a fully edited PS4 Built roster on a PS3 to same on a PS4.
Authentic Gloves & Bats are missing.
Slap hitting is missing in PS3.
Low Strirrups turn out to be Long Pants.
Daily Radio Show Recap is absent.
BUT .........
Old Time Staduims sure are nice to have !
Faces are a bit different but not too bad actually.
Guess I'll keep this PS3 version solely for those time I just long for seeing a game in one of those beautiful Classics Ballparks !
I guess my age is showing!
(although I think you're a bit older than me which scares me!)
I'll be finishing up the Cards tonight and moving on to the Cubbies.
I was really hoping to get the complete set done before I finish my vacation, but it looks not.
Don't fret...I will keep up nearly the same pace(I don't know if that's good or bad....
But it will be done pretty soon.
The good news is....I have another vacation in September....so I'll likely start another set then. '65 I guess.
WoW ! '65 is smack damb in the middle of my sweet spot ! That will be unbelievable !
I am currently building my Late '60s ('65-'69) set to complement my previously released Early '60s ('60-'64) set. I fully expect to add to these two sets overtime and have plans for a total of 5 '60s type sets (60-61; 62-63; 64-65; 66-67; 68-69) along with a couple 70s and possibly even a late 50s set.
With year to year roster saves on the horizon one can anticipate building on these rosters for several years. Although at 66 years old perhaps I might not accomplish my ultimate goal but will push forward toward it as best I can. I truly enjoy doing these rosters.
I am really enjoying your '75 Playoff set. It is truly well done and I do consider it a WIP so don't concern yourself with the corrections. I'm still making corrections to my Early '60s set the more I play it.
Thanks Knight165 ....... You are truly a Master at this Stuff & bring endless hours of enjoyment to many !
Don
St. Louis is completed.
I jumped Chicago to Atlanta instead(no particular reason....:o)
I'm having a lot of fun just playing random franchise games with these.
Last night was St. Louis vs. Cincy in a late season match up.
Gibson vs. Darcy.
-The Reds are monsters....no real weakness in that lineup.
-Gibby was at the end of his fabulous career....but pretty much an average-sub average pitcher by this point.
But he held his own and got over a few rough spots to go a solid 7 giving up just a two run homerun to Tony Perez(Bench was SOOOOOO close to a grand slam in the fifth.....really nice catch by Lou Brock to snag what looked like a sure homerun off the bat)
-Keith Hernandez looks strange without a mustache.
-Bake McBride was underrated
-I can't wait to finish this set!
(if you find yourself whistling "Jive Talkin'", "Fame", "I'm Not in Love" or "That's the Way I Like It"....you were probably alive in '75!)
The S.D. Padres will be completed tonight. Just a few players left on them THEN onto the Braves.
14 teams completed....10 to go.
Completed teams:
N.Y. N, Philly, Pitt, Cincy, Chicago N ,St. Louis, L.A. N, S.F., S.D., Baltimore,
N.Y. A, Boston, K.C. and Oakland
To be done:
Cleveland, Milwaukee, Detroit, Texas, Minny, Chicago A, L.A. A(California), Washington(Montreal), Houston and Atlanta
I pitched Randy Jones and his 79-80 MPH sinker against the Cards.
Yeah...he owned them.
I think I'm going to go with the white/brown stripe cleats for S.D. I know a lot of players wore the black still in '75...but I think it looks bad.
Also....the S.D. catchers wore navy gear....but I think I'll fudge it for Brown/Gold. It will look better I think.
About the Cubs...their Default color looks terrible for the cleats(IMO)....they were closer to navy....thoughts?
Send them my way at any time and I will be thrilled to run through them.
I am totally enjoying my '75 Playoff Games. They are very realistic games with exceptional quality between the lines.
Big Red Machine hanging tough but Mets giving them a battle in the Divsionals. A's at risk of elimination at the hands of the Orioles. Pirates & Dodgers going back and forth in their matchup while the BoSoxs seem on the brink of sending the Royals exiting.
This '75 set is marvelous and I can only imagine how the potential '65 set will be. That will be like a dream come true for me since that is the decade I am most familiar with and followed the closest by far. I entered the '60s as an 11 year old and exited it as a 21 year old so you can imagine what those years of following those players meant to me!

Than you don......
It always means a lot to me when someone who uses my rosters appreciates and enjoys them.
Especially if it's someone here on O.S. and particularly a regular in the forums and even more so when it's somebody who creates rosters themselves.
I know exactly what you mean about a particular decade that was a pinnacle of baseball.
For me...it was the 70's......a young boy that really started getting into the game.
I cried twice during the 70's.....in '73 when the Mets lost to the A's in the Series...I just couldn't understand that(I was 8)...but I remember it.
Then in '77.....(this was more just plain crushed...not crying)....Seaver?..HOW? for who?
I guess it was really two decades for me....well....a half of one....the second half of the 70's and the 80's.
But that's what makes all of these historical rosters special.
The nostalgia.....the walk back in time.
