MLB The Show 20 is the best sports game ever made PERIOD imo. Still playing it and experiencing new animations and scenarios still!

Totally agree. Got tons of classic rosters saved on my USB flash drive.

To add to this IMO, For the sheer mountains of rosters available I'd have to give Madden 20 as the best rosters in Maddens released.

I tried MLB 20 recently and found the lack of smoothness quite jarring, primarily the ball coming out of the pitcher's hand. Guess I am spoiled by the smoothness of the newer editions.

It's strange they are decommission two years of the Show at the same time. Sounds like they may be ready to stop supporting a version for the PlayStation 4.

I'm praying they'll make a game next year for PS4. I played 20 for three straight seasons before upgrading to 23. I enjoy but do miss 20 a bit since I played it so much.

I'm guessing there won't be a PS4 version of the game next year. That being said, 20 is the best version of the game IMO. Gameplay was so balanced.

Man, there is so much content in '20 and there really wasn't any weirdness like the double Shohei bug or too much nonsensical stuff, definitely the best in recent memory even though it's technically a PS4 game. I play it even though I have all the new versions on the Ps5. I've gotten a forkballer to pitch into his 12th season playing every game. If only they'd license or open source the servers for deprecated versions. At least I guess I get to keep pitching Joe Bacon of the Cubs until his forkball becomes meatballs eventually.

What do you miss about it?

Hard to say really. I played it so much because it was during lockdown and I had so much free time. It was like I was playing Ken Griffey SNES as a kid again. I like Heidi Watney but it got annoying after while with her in game analysis that you couldn't skip.

I'm hoping there is. I read recently that they will still make games for the PS4/Xbox 1 until early 2025 so hopefully that means NBA 2k25, Madden, and of course MLB The Show 24-25 will also be on PS4.


At this point I'll take a copy and past of 23 on PS4 next season with updated rosters and plenty more throwback uniforms added in.
