Licensing. Several individual schools are working with SDS on this - not the NCAA as a whole.

Yea. Noticed that when I gave up an absolute moonshot to the CPU in Diamond Dynasty. Camera held on the batter (Teoscar Hernandez) for a second or 2 before switching to the ball flight. Still had the distance popup unfortunately - only reason it wasn't perfect.

With the older presentation setups (again, the 2000 setting and before), it's probably a perfect recreation. When the user's pitching anyway. Maybe for CPU vs CPU too, since it locks to broadcast view in that situation.

Re: MLB The Show 2025 Early Impressions

Best game in the entire series I ever played. From the updated player models to all the changes in displays, text sizes etc the game play is phenomenal!! So much stuff has been fixed that 24 got wrong. I'm very happy with this year's game. Thanks @MLBTheShow entire team!!

For all the OSers you got to see and play this in person yourself. All the ones saying graphics, player models etc haven't been changed or looks exactly the same the last 10 years. Well I've given them a hard time myself in that area, but this game on my setup is smooth as butter and you can definitely see the changes in uniforms, player models physique. The game really does feels different and everything pops and is crystal clear. I can't express enough about the QOL changes.

The settings/menu area is different and going to take some getting use to and some other menu or quick access but I'm loving all the changes. Wind is still not in online play and that sucks but I'll deal with it because this is the year of baseball and the best one yet they made.

Kotsay(A’s) and Marmol(STL) are missing as managers. It doesn’t affect gameplay of course. Just the immersion factor.

Absolutely insane to me that they still haven’t fixed the out of town scoreboard in left field.

Did they update Carlos Mendoza?

Optimization for PS5 Pro with the PSSR upscaling? Hope so otherwise why sell a $700 mid cycle refresh.

I came across this Decision timer for manager mode. 2, 4, 6 seconds, or off are the options. MoM players might be happy to see something new for them. I'm going to have to test that out and see what it does because it is interesting.

I also noticed we can now turn off the confidence and energy bars separately without having to turn off the entire pitch selection. This is one of those quality of life things that may be overlooked.
Something that I have not seen in any of the videos posted online that has been in the game for the past few editions is your fielder's last name shown (along with the circle). Does anyone know if there is still an option to indicate their last name?
