I just had one of these happen and I do not like it at all.

1st and 2nd, a ball hit to rf gap and guy on 1st is going for 3rd. Had him dead to rights with the throw over to 3rd but the 3rd baseman swept the tag toward 3rd base. The animation looks stupid, sweeping away from the head first slide allowing the runner to be safe.

Its called applying the tag for a reason. All the 3rd baseman had to do was leave the glove extended and the runner would have slid into it.

I will get a video once the game is done.

1st issue is why is the 3rd baseman there? By there, I mean so far off he can't protect the bag.

Main issue is the tag is poor but not just a poor tag, the animation does not fit the circumstance.

Maybe this belongs in the bug thread but it is a tag issue. 1st and 3rd, runner breaks to steal 2nd, throw goes to 2nd, other runner breaks for home, throw goes from 2nd to home and the catcher does not apply the tag. Throw beats the runner home by 5 steps. safe. I've been able to reproduce this about half the time.

And to make it even odder 2nd, if you throw home but the runner on 3rd does not come the catcher will go into a sweep tag routine like its practice and he is getting a phantom rep in, then throw it to the pitcher.
