MLB The Show : Did You Know???

MLB The Show is a great game. And its greatness stems from its underlying mechanics. So how exactly is MLB 15 The Show programmed? What hidden treasures are there that can help us understand the mechanics to help better our game.

I produced a video showcasing the hitting elements that go under the radar.

Please share valuable information about The Show's hitting, pitching, and fielding mechanics that are not well understood by the community. I'd like to break this thread down into sections: Hitting, Pitching, Fielding, Baserunning, Dynasty, RTTS, etc. My goal is for this thread to become the ultimate MLB THE SHOW tips thread.

So here are my hidden hitting features explained:

-Each hitting mechanic designed to be equally difficult in execution
-Directional Hitting has constricted timing windows
-Direction of Influence in directional hitting is NOT a PCI... meaning don't match the direction of influence with pitch location
-PCI placement altered by timing of your swing; swing too early = lifted PCI, swing too late = lowered PCI
-PCI above pitch = ground ball
-PCI below pitch = fly ball
-PCI size = average of contact and vision attributes, modified by pitcher stats
-additional size adjustment for power...
-With analog hitting, you have to match right stick with horizontal location of pitch, while player ratings determine vertical movement of PCI
-In non-analog hitting mechanics, contact swing expands timing windows and reduces power
-In analog hitting, there is NO contact swing. Swinging right stick right or left moves your bat to the right or left of strike zone (no effect on contact/power)
-Discipline rating affects ability to check swing
-Contact rating affects ability to make SOLID CONTACT
-Plate vision rating affects chance to make ANY CONTACT
-For pull hitters, timing windows are increased for early swings but decreased for late swings; opposite is true for push hitters
-Swinging early = extra power
-Swinging late = better contact

Again, please add more to the list. The video goes much more in depth on each topic, so make sure to check it out. I'd like to make a pitching "Did You Know" vid as well, so provide some pitching tips/explanations as well.

Yea a great one to make would be about the offseason and all of the different transactions in the game. IE Waivers, DFA's, Rule 5 and 4 drafts, Super 2s, etc. Basically all of the stuff listed in that transaction handbook. Also bring up the contract renewals at the end of the offseason because you can sign your guys to cheaper contracts. But this ONLY FOR GUYS THAT HAVE THE THING THAT HAVE CONTRACT RENEWAL.

Thats a great idea!!! Although I'd have to do a TON of research for that.
