Players diving back to the bag on hits... Officially broken?

It's been mentioned a few times in the impressions thread but no fix or cause has been identified.

I'ts happening to me 2 or 3 times a game. I play with assisted running (wish there was a completely manual option) and even when it's a sure fire rope base hit, my guy on 1st keeps diving back to the bag and he's getting forced at 2nd by outfielders.

Switched it to auto and the same thing happens.

How many of you are experiencing this?

Is this broken? Can it be fixed? Is there a setting I'm missing?

I'm thinking you're accidentally hitting R1 when you swing. I do it sometimes.

Try auto and see if they dive back, they should do it auto as well I would think.
