Future Sustainability of DD

I am just curious what people’s thoughts are on the long term sustainability of Diamond Dynasty for MLB the Show.

As of today it is clearly the cash cow for SDS. But with the average MLB fan being older than 50 and rising and a record number of people unemployed I wonder how long the appeal of spending your money on DD is.

The answer may well be it will never get old for users. And SDS will continue to focus a majority of their time figuring out how to get users buy the latest version of Austin Hayes instead of legacy issues in other modes. I think the Madden franchise is a perfect example of what happens when devs focus all their time on micro transactions and I hope SDS never gets to that point.

MLB the show does an exceptional job at allowing you to build stacked and competitive squad without spending a dime extra on the game. From a user perspective, I don't think much has changed

much like the automobile, DD is just a passing fad. I'm sure DD will be gone by 2098 or 2099.

we are talking about Dynamic Difficulty aren't we?

Until it gets classified as gambling or a group with enough sway to pull the "what about the children" card can get people all in a huff it's not going anywhere. It's making money so it's not in any danger.
