What do the developers recommend?

All Star, HOF or Legend for hitting/pitching

meter or classic pitching
zone or directional hitting

Just curious how MLBTS was designed out of the box to get the most from the game.

They say one doesn't have an advantage over the other. Me personally analog pitching and pci hitting. Might take more learning but it's the best but that is just an opinion.

each persons own individual skill set is going to determine whats best, so a cookie-cutter design isn't going to produce a osfm (one size fits most) lol

for difficulty I prefer dynamic, meter pitching and directional hitting

Re: What do the developers recommend?

In my understanding. A few years ago they said that All Star is the middle of the road, literally. Every other difficulty leans towards the user or ai as far as ability goes. (ie Rookie its easier for the player to hit and pitch while on Hall of Fame it is much harder. Relatively speaking.)This meaning that on All Star there are no bonuses or minuses for the player or the CPU.

I don't know if this is still the case with '18, but this was always my impression of their comments back in the day.

Re: What do the developers recommend?

ya all star is basically default normal.

now in years past i would always play on all star default(because lets be honest, im not the greatest player) and would play on Directional Hitting.

But in '18 i took the challenge to learn Zone Hitting, and now i play on HOF difficulty and could probably up it to Legend, because well in my Mets Franchise playing on HOF i am almost hitting .400 with close to all my players in my lineup. so i think if i up it to Legend then my average will drop to a more realistic number.
