Carry over from 20 The Show PS4 to 21 The Show PS5

I have been pretty busy reworking my personal created legends in hopes to upload to new game and PS5.
A step by step would be appreciated.

Will it possible to send my current 2020 franchise on PS4 to the cloud then down it to my new PS5 and continue my franchise with all my created players intact?

I would be extremely surprised and disappointed if you couldn't considering the PS5 is being promoted as backwards compatible with 99% of the PS4's library of games.

But with that said, SDS has not yet formally announced the ability to carryover saves from the PS4 to the PS5.

With strait roster-to-roster ports now, I wouldn't think we'd get left out in the cold here.

Guys, if they can port the game over, then your saves will work. It's not like there is going to be a fundamental difference between the PS4 and PS5 "versions".

Edit: misread the question. However, I don't think there is any difference in file structure. The only thing that may cause a problem is if SDS makes a fundamental change to the game itself that makes old saves incompatible with new systems (eg if expanding rosters caused a fatal error with old saves).

There is no reason why hardware alone would cause an issue. This console generation is more equivalent to upgrading a PC then all new technology. File structure and format will all be the same.

you'll probably have to go through the ''cloud'' to go from PS4 to 5, isn't that the way it worked from PS3 to 4, iirrc?

And this would be acceptable if this happened. We are all clamoring for expanded rosters, deeper minor leagues, international Free Agents etc etc etc.

Meantime I am taking a long long wait and see with the new PS5. We will be staying on PS4 for at least another year.....minimum. Maybe longer. I am not going to be an early adopter this time around. ( I only early adopted once with the PS4, I waited 3 years to go from PS2 to PS3 and found that was a better experience for my sports gaming habit lol).
