PS4 or PS5 for 21'?

Will you be getting or hoping to get a PS5 to play 21 on next year? I personally will continue on with the PS4. Due to the lack of support for external drives for storage of PS4 games.

Also since they have not yet come out with any supported SSD expansion drives for the internal storage for PS5 games.

once they have worked out the issues with these issues I will be making the jump to the ps5 for this game. Seeing how it is the only game I play I am really in no rush to get the PS5 until these issues are addressed by Sony themselves.

Also, I use a headset (Plantronics Rigs) that must use the audio cable which the PS5 does not support anymore. So that is another issue I have with this.

So add that to my list of things I have to wait for (finding a new headset for gaming that I like).

So which direction will you be going? Or will you if it is found out that the series will in fact be launching on Xbox will you be jumping over the Xbox?

Can't wait to start getting Twitch streams about all the "new" features for franchise mode in 21'.

PS4......if some more throwback uniforms are added. Otherwise I'll stick with 20 which I tend to enjoy quite a bit.

I’ll be going to ps5 version of 21. I am in year three of my Yankees dynasty. I have played all 162+ games each year for three years. So I will carry it over to next year.

I'm going to make 21 my last Show on PS4, I plan on upgrading to a PS5 in March 2022. I bought the 3 & 4 on launch but I don't have a pressing need for the 5 (yet)

I’m perfectly happy with how the game looks on ps4 and this is the only game I play. I probably won’t upgrade until they stop making it for ps4 or if for some reason ps5 has a better franchise mode than ps4

I got the PS4 at launch (and what a difference that launch was compared to this ridiculous ****show this year).

I have no need for a PS5 right now......at all. And to be honest if I do not see true cutting edge differences I may wait longer.

My hope is MLB 21 continues the fantastic gameplay of 20 and adds more franchise customization ala NBA 2K’s “My League”.

Yeah I have no plans on a PS5 upgrade anytime soon, even if I did have the extra money. That being said I am also not sold on an Show 21 upgrade either. Unless strides have been made in Franchise Mode I see no need to stop playing 20

1) Unknown if I would even be able to find a PS5 in the stores by the end of March or beginning of April and I definitely will NOT be picking up a PS5 from a scalper.

2) I likely would need to also buy a new TV (or monitor) that is capable of taking advantage of the visual upgrades of the PS5 console hardware.

3) Will MLB The Show 21 have enough enhancements to warrant spending money on not only the game, but also the console and a new TV (or monitor). SDS is definitely better than most other sports game makers when it comes to enhancing their game. But only time will tell if they can make spending all this money worth while.

So yes having a PS5 would be nice, but it is not a priority for me at this time. Only time will tell what happens in the next 3+ months.

100% it will be on the PS4 you can’t disinfranchise millions of PS4 console owners in 2021 LOL.

And I am 99% certain 21 will not be the last for the PS4. There are simply 10’s of millions not moving on to the new consoles for a few years easy.

Not everyone just runs out and buys a $500-$600 console in the first two years of the cycle.

They would be leaving millions of dollars of revenue on the table.

I do have a PS5 and am looking forward to The Show on the new console. I imagine that as a Sony studio, the PS5 version will be a priority for them to show off the new console and more importantly, the new DualSense.

If it's relatively easy to get a PS5 by spring, The Show would be a must have game for it for me. If it's still really hard to find and I wind up buying The Show for PS4, I might put off my acquisition of a PS5 until 2022.

Oh wow yeah, I forgot that was happening. That adds a wrinkle to my plans since we won't know whether the PS5 or XSX version runs better until launch, probably (though I imagine any differences would be miniscule). Hopefully it'll have cross play
