I haven't gotten a chance to try him out yet in a game, but his 80 speed rating is actually pretty decent for a 6'9" guy. But that 69 quickness and 69 lateral movement could spell trouble, even though he has 95 on-ball IQ and the silver perimeter lock down defender badge.

At the very worst, Sapphire Deng should be a slightly better version of Boris Diaw, which is a card that I've already gotten a ton of great games from. Diaw has worse athleticism ratings, 80 on-ball IQ, and bronze lockdown perimeter defender.

Right now in RTTP, I use silver Ryan Anderson at the power forward if I need offense, and bring in silver Boris Diaw if I need more defense there. Deng should be able to start and fill both roles well if you like to run a 4-out, 1-in offense based on spacing and pick and rolls.
