Reason being I'm going for Clyde Drexler. He and thompson are somewhat similar, though thompson is way more athletic yet drexler is the better shooter/rebounder/defender.

Clyde to my knowledge isn't a reward this year or hasn't revealed to be one. Are you mixing him up from last year? Anyway, I chose Thompson and am somewhat regretting it. He dunks when open when driving but has not done a standing dunk for me despite having excellent stats. He also has dunk packages that are blocked alot. His release needs getting used to being that it is so quick and a 79 three ball is less than I would want. His tendencies have been fixed but for me my review of him are that of a solid gold or emerald type player. Not the diamond beast that you would expect him to be. Him being relatively undersized at 6'4 contributes to that and felling like 6 foot or under contributes to Thompson being lacklustre imo.

Clyde is the reward for the historic Rockets collection.

Man Thompson is sooo much better than you're giving him credit for, he's a lock down defender and he can score at will, you can put 11 badges on him so comparing him to a gold or an emerald is ludacris. I do regret taking him over Wallace but only because there aren't any decent centers out

Re: MyTeam 2k17 line-up suggestions/ advice thread

Ok, so after finishing historic domination last night, here's my squad.

Tony Parker / Jay Williams

Derek Harper / QRich

Shawn Marion / Spreewell

KD / Horry

KAT / Marc Gasol

I got extremely lucky when completing domination, I had read that nobody has gotten anything better than an emerald from the MT Allstars. Well my 2nd to last game I pulled Ruby Clippers Dominique from the Western Allstars, which there was none of in the AH when I checked so I just about flipped. Then I pulled Ruby Mugsy from the MT Allstars on the last game.

Since I pulled Mugsy, I've decided now that I'm going after LJ and I've already gotten about half the Hornets collection from sniping last night. Any thoughts on running LJ with this squad? Hoping to pair him with a big defensive center, though I like KAT the best of all the emeralds. Might just go for Ben through that blacktop grind.

If that's the case then I'll be going for Drexler then. Thompson's great inside scoring stats don't mean much if his animations are weak. Drexler is the better defender, shooter, rebounder, and he's 6'7 with some post game lol.

LJ is the best PF currently in the game and will help out your lineup a lot as your 4/5 is the weak spot of your squad. I'd use DJ over KAT if you're looking to play online. Lanier is a very solid C if you want to splash on the Bucks collection.

I would suggest that Marion slide over to the 4 over KD. in later leagues of MTO, you'll be facing up against guys with J Smith, Walker, Willis/grandmama and other great big men that will eat up KD on the boards and on offense. Trust me, you do not want KD having to pickup a center in transition/rotation.

Agreed here. LJ playing the 4 on offense diversifies your offense so much with his solid shooting stats and ability to go 1-1 in the post and can pick and choose mismatches.

My current lineup is Francis/Dumars/Smith/LJ/Wallace. Smith I usually assign to the power forward on defense. With this starting lineup, it's a no fly zone for slashers and good luck trying to outrebound me.
