Need help, Chasing moving potentials

I know 2k said this years game would have more variability in player potential, but in simulation after simulation, I only ever see them go DOWN. Players like LaMelo and Doncic who I manually set to 99 potential keep crashing to 88-90.

Are there slider settings that affect potential and can keep my entire league from peaking at 90ovr? Thanks so much for your help!!

I went and put legendary work ethic on young players, that seemed to help sometimes.

Honestly seems like they implemented the boom bust, and a lot of people are busting and the options of like minimum peak and all that are hidden on current gen
