CPU v CPU: Too Much Standing Around On Offense

I've seen far too many possessions taken down to the wire of the shot clock instead of players taking things into their own hands in CPU v CPU gameplay. Anything to change that from happening?

You can help it a little. The reduction of the speed differential to 30-60 from 70-25 or whatever has impacted the game a lot in regards to cpu play running. Also try to cut on ball d if u can because that seems to affect how tightly people guard even off ball. Collision detection can be a problem, too, but it seems better this year. Basically just try to get people moving faster so the cpu can try multiple plays.

You’re going to need roster edits. There’s a tendency that determines how often a player will break the play and just go on his own. You have to bring that down. A quick fix would be to just turn run plays for the cpu down.

I'll try both of these things and see what happens

You're still going to get a certain amount of it no matter what you do, but as far as tendencies, you can edit the "Iso" and "Play Discipline" tendencies. The Iso ones are how often the player will take it 1 on 1 when they get the ball in a favorable match-up regardless of the play or shot-clock....and that includes post-players taking their guys, not just a perimeter iso. The higher the Iso rating, they more often they do that. Right below those is the Play Discipline tendency and that dictates how quickly the player breaks off the play and just tries to score instead. The higher the rating, the more likely the player is to stick with and run the play. So you'd decrease those if you want guys to shoot earlier.
